Sam Loc Strategy - Aggression & Speed 🚀
1. The "Bao Sam" Decision
Calling Bao Sam (declaring you will win without anyone else playing a card) is high risk, high reward.
- When to Call: Only call if you have a "Dragon" (straight sequence), unbeatable bomb combinations, or a hand that guarantees you initiative until the end.
- The Risk: If you are blocked even once, you pay the whole table. Calculate carefully.
2. Blocking & Trap Play
- Block High: In Sam Loc, players often try to sneak small cards out. If you have the chance, block with your highest cards immediately to seize control.
- Trap with 2s: Unlike Tien Len, a 2 can be blocked by a Four of a Kind. Be careful when playing 2s late in the game if you suspect someone is holding a bomb.
3. Card Memorization
- Count the 2s: Knowing how many 2s are left is vital for playing your own 2s or high cards safely.
- Remember High Cards: Track the Aces and Kings to know if your Queens or Jacks are currently the highest.
4. Tips & Tricks
- Don't Hoard: Playing faster is generally better. The penalty for "thoi" (holding cards when someone finishes) can be heavy.
- Break Pairs: Sometimes breaking a pair to form a long straight is worth it to clear more cards from your hand.
