Rules of Tu Sac (Tứ Sắc)

Tu Sac, or "Four Colors", is a popular card game in Central and Southern Vietnam. It uses a deck of 112 cards divided into four colors: Red, Green, Yellow, and White.

1. The Deck

The 112 cards represent 7 chess-like pieces:

• General (Tướng)
• Advisor (Sĩ)
• Elephant (Tượng)
• Chariot (Xe)
• Cannon (Pháo)
• Horse (Mã)
• Soldier (Chốt)

Each piece appears in all 4 colors.

2. Gameplay

The game is similar to Rummy. Players try to form valid melds:

• Pairs: Two identical cards.
• Triples/Quads: Three or four identical cards.
• Color Runs: Groups of cards following specific color/piece rules.

3. Winning

A player wins when they successfully meld all their cards into valid groups and have zero "odd" cards left in hand.
